The Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) has announced the postponement of the APPSC Group 2 Mainss Examination 2024. Originally scheduled for January 5, 2025, the exam will now take place on February 23, 2025. Candidates who are preparing for the Group 2 Mains Examination can check the official notice on the exam postponement by visiting the official website of APPSC at psc.ap.gov.in.
“In continuation to the Commission’s Web Note & Press Note, dated: 30.10.2024, it is hereby informed that the Mains Written Examination for Group II Services (Notification No.11/2023) scheduled to be held on 05.01.2025 is rescheduled on 23.02.2025,” reads the official notice.
The APPSC Group 2 Mains Examination 2024 will be held in 13 districts in the state. As per reports, this year approximately 1 lakh candidates will appear for the Mains exam.
This is the second time the APPSC Group 2 Mains exam has been postponed. The examination was originally planned for July 28, 2024, but was deferred. The Commission then announced the examination had been postponed for administrative reasons.

The APPSC Group 2 Mains Examination 2024 will be conducted to fill approximately 900 vacancies across various state government departments.
The APPSC Group 2 Mains Examination 2024 will consist of three equally weighted test papers, each featuring objective questions at the bachelor’s degree level. Candidates should note that for each correct answer, they will earn one mark, while an incorrect answer will result in a penalty of one-third of a mark.
The Commission conducted the Preliminary screening test on February 25, 2024. It was administered in a single shift from 10:30 am to 1 pm at 1,327 exam venues in 24 districts of Andhra Pradesh. Meanwhile, the preliminary exam results were declared on April 10, 2024.
