Addressing the trolls in her caption, Namita Thapar called out those telling her to ‘dress her age’ and labelled her as ‘just a nepo kid.’

Shark Tank India judge Namita Thapar can pull off the role of fashionista as perfectly as that of an entrepreneur. Currently, she is proving her fashion finesse at the 77th Cannes Film Festival. With her debut appearance at the prestigious event, Namita has taken the Internet by storm. She recently treated the audience with some snapshots of her new look. However, it was her caption that started stirring waves among netizens. Namita took a subtle dig at the trolls while underlining the stereotypes in her latest post.

Addressing the trolls in her caption, Namita called out those telling her to ‘dress her age’ and labelled her as ‘just a nepo kid.’ Highlighting remarks like ‘You don’t deserve a seat on the shark tank’ and ‘Please don’t post your Cannes pictures’, Namita reacted, “Who defines who we are & how we need to behave? The biggest gift in life is when …with age, with some white hair & with guidance from precious mentors, you discover your true authentic self & celebrate self-love. Yes, I will go all out in Cannes…yes, I will put up my pics on social media & oh yes, I will not be apologetic & defensive about who I am. Here’s to taking every stereotype ever created & squashing it with my 6-inch killer heels !!!”

Namita, for her new appearance at Cannes, draped herself in an off-shoulder purple dress designed by Lebanese fashion designer Elio Abou Fayssal. She looked every bit gorgeous in the overflowing gown which she elevated with her on-point accessories game. She sealed her look in a bun with a few strands falling loose on her face.

Namita Thapar received the invitation to attend the premiere of Chris Hemsworth’s Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga on the second day of the festival. She was dressed in a mint green floor sweeping gown for the event. The ensemble came with a balloon detailing and she added a touch of bling to it with her choice of diamond necklace and earrings.

Speaking about the excitement to slip into the elaborate gown while speaking with Brut, Namita expressed, “I love the colour because it is so different. It is a colour that I have never worn before. I just hope that I can manage this long train, but I am having fun… I pray I don’t trip over it (her gown) on the red carpet.”
