Sumbul Touqeer, who rose to fame with her portrayal of Imlie, is once again in the spotlight with her latest project, Kavya-Ek Jazbaa, Ek Junoon. While her exceptional acting skills continue to captivate audiences, Sumbul finds herself amidst ongoing rumours and speculations regarding her personal life, particularly her alleged linkups with co-stars. The actress recently addressed these rumors in an interview and shared her perspective on the matter.

Sumbul had previously shared a close bond with Fahmaan Khan during their collaboration on Imlie. However, rumours suggested a rift in their friendship. Currently, she is paired opposite Mishkat Verma in Kavya: Ek Jazbaa, Ek Junoon, where their on-screen chemistry as Kavya and Adhiraj has garnered praise, leading to speculation about a potential off-screen romance.

In an interview with Pinkvilla, Sumbul shared, “It does not affect me anymore. Earlier it used to affect me a lot but with time we learn. Now I know these things are bound to happen. People see you on the screen together and they feel something should happen.”

She further said, “But now I have realised that this will keep happening. If now I do some other show with some other co-actor then people will start linking me up with them as well. This will keep happening and I can’t do anything about it.”

Also, rumours were circulating about the show Kavya: Ek Jazbaa Ek Junoon going off-air. However, the actress refuted these claims in an interview with Telly Talk, calling them baseless. She reassured fans that there was no truth to these rumors and urged them not to believe such gossip.

Sumbul began her acting journey with short supporting roles as a child artist in the series Har Mushkil Ka Hal Akbar Birbal and Jodha Akbar, which aired on Big Magic and Zee TV respectively in 2014. Her breakthrough came in 2020 when she starred in the popular show Imlie, portraying the lead character of Imlie. Before Imlie, Sumbul made her Bollywood debut with a small role as Amali in the film Article 15 in 2019.

She is currently portraying the character of IAS officer Kavya Bansal in Kavya: Ek Jazbaa Ek Junon. She shares the screen with actors Mishkat Varma and Anuj Sullere in the show.
