Amitabh Bachchan Lauds Son Abhishek’s ‘Versatility And Dedication’ As Refugee Clocks 24 Years

Abhishek Bachchan made his acting debut with the 2000 film Refugee alongside Kareena Kapoor Khan.

Abhishek Bachchan, who kicked off his career with JP Dutta’s Refugee alongside Kareena Kapoor, has completed 24 years of his subtle yet strong presence in the industry. Released in 2000, the film, which marked the debut of both actors, also starred Jackie Shroff and Anupam Kher. As the film clocks 24 years, Amitabh Bachchan did not forget to give a shoutout to his son. The legendary actor, who never shies away from showing his immense pride and love for Abhishek Bachchan, shared a heartfelt response on social media.

Resharing a fan post celebrating Abhishek’s journey in the Hindi film industry, Big B expressed his love and sent sweet blessings. “Love you Bhaiyu .. your versatility, and your dedication entirely to the character you play .. all so different and so completely unique .. blessings and more,” he wrote on X.

The video comprised clips from Abhishek Bachchan’s popular roles in films like Refugee, Guru, Bunty Aur Babli, Dhoom, Manmarziyaan, Bluffmaster and Ghoomer, among others. Notably, the father-son duo have been each other’s biggest supporters on social media. From praising one another to promoting their films, their unwavering encouragement and bond portray a spectacle picture. In the most recent, Abhishek Bachchan accompanied his father for a special screening of Kalki 2898 AD. Big B shared the pictures of his movie outing on his blog, with his son “fooling around” at the cinema hall.

Prior to this, Kareena Kapoor also shared a post on Instagram, celebrating 24 years of her debut film. With a video including clips of her role as Nazneen Ahmed, the actress, “24 years of discovering myself and my characters…The best is yet to come…Love you all …”

A cross-border love story, the film tells the story of a refugee who falls in love with Nazneen (Kareena Kapoor), the daughter of a family that he helped relocate to Pakistan. In the meantime, Abhishek Bachchan has a couple of projects in the pipeline, including Shoojit Sircar’s untitled drama and Housefull 5.

Whereas Amitabh Bachchan is currently basking in the success of his latest release, Kalki 2898 AD. His performance as the legendary Ashwatthama has received immense praise from the audience. Directed by Nag Ashwin, the film recently hit theatres and is doing good business at the box office,

Kalki also stars actors Prabhas, Deepika Padukone and Kamal Haasan, among others.
